Bio
Lynda Montgomery’s fiction has appeared in Driftwood, Another Chicago Magazine, and december magazine and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. She has written interviews and essays for Electric Literature, The Masters Review (blog), Los Angeles Review of Books and Belt Magazine. The William N. Skirball Writers’ Center invited her to record a selection for the Cuyahoga County Public Library Writers Reading Podcast.
A FY 2020 Individual Excellence Awardee in fiction from the Ohio Arts Council, Lynda is an alumna of juried workshops including Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Tin House Winter Workshop, and Aspen Summer Words. She completed residencies for fiction at the Vermont Studio Center, Ragdale Artist Community, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. In 2014, she was awarded a Creative Workforce Fellowship, a Cuyahoga county-supported grant for literature.
Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, the Rocket City, she has made Cleveland her home for twenty years. She is a current fiction student in the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College,works as a family doctor, and lives with her family in Shaker Heights.
